SCALES AND ARPEGGIOS
My students start learning scales and arpeggios from the very first lesson. These exercises are paramount to piano technique.
CLASSICAL REPERTOIRE
Classical music is uniquely beautiful and complex. There is nothing else like it. It challenges the mind and soul, allowing students to grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
NOTE READING AND MUSIC THEORY
All of my students learn to read music. I have created my own series of worksheets that teach note reading for a variety of levels, from kids who are not yet reading, to adult students. In order for students to better understand the music they're playing, I introduce topics of music theory within the context of the music being studied. For students who are interested in furthering their music education, I teach formal music theory.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Performance is a skill that needs to be practiced. The more performance opportunities a student has, the better they will be at performing. Student recitals give students an attainable goal with a definitive end point. It's also gives the student the opportunity to showcase their hard work to a supportive audience of family and friends.
*Due to Covid-19, all student recitals are cancelled. We will schedule one as soon as it is safe to do so.
